Thermalbadesee

The thermal bathing lake project in Bad Hofgastein, which is unique in the world, is one of the most complex pilot projects. Two thermal bathing lakes were created with a water surface of 1,300 m² and 370 m² respectively, which can only be cleaned naturally. Circumferential, purely biological filter systems enable chlorine-free bathing pleasure. Huge underground equalization basins ensure a continuous exchange of water in the lakes. This is ideal bathing fun for young and old, especially for allergy sufferers.

Another special feature is that the lakes are refilled daily with 150 m³ of thermal water. The energy required for this is generated using heat pumps. This energy is obtained from the excess, unused thermal water. This means that the lakes can be operated in an almost energy-neutral manner.

The planning and implementation of this globally unique project was a challenging task. Alpentherme Gastein was able to further strengthen its position with the thermal bathing lakes.
